Leona Chin Keeps Her Spirits High After MTCC Sepang Round 2, Looks Ahead to August Race

SEPANG, 27 July 2025 — Malaysian motorsport icon Leona Chin, fresh off celebrating her 39th birthday on July 23rd, took to the track for Round 2 of the Malaysia Touring Car Championship (MTCC) at Sepang International Circuit from July 25–27. While the weekend didn’t go exactly as planned, Leona remained in high spirits and is already gearing up for redemption in the next round happening August 8–10.

Racing in the TP2 category in Honda Civic Type R, Leona once again brought her trademark determination and passion to the grid. Despite facing technical challenges and tough competition throughout the weekend, she remained focused and optimistic. Finished 4th in Race 1 and 5th in Race 2.

“Racing is full of ups and downs, and this was one of those learning weekends,” Leona said after the race. “But the support from fans, friends, and my team — especially right after my birthday — means the world to me. I’m not giving up. The next round is just around the corner, and I’m more fired up than ever.”

Leona’s perseverance is no surprise to those who follow her career. From local grassroots racing to international GT endurance events, she has built a reputation not just for skill behind the wheel, but for her resilience and ability to bounce back.
