October 6, 2024 – Shanghai, China – Malaysian motorsport athlete Leona Chin celebrated her debut in GT-level endurance racing with a podium finish at the Shanghai 8 Hours Endurance Race, held at the Shanghai International Circuit. Competing with Team Z-Speed in the GTC-Porsche category, Leona and her teammates secured an impressive 3rd place finish. The race featured 17 cars across multiple GT categories, including GTC-Porsche, with Leona’s team navigating the challenges of extreme weather conditions as rain poured throughout the day.
Driving a Porsche GT3 Cup car alongside teammates Eric Kwong and Yang Hao Jie, Leona embraced the intensity and excitement of the 8-hour race. “It was a fun and exciting experience,” Leona shared. “I was ready to take on the challenge, but it was very eventful. Learning to control the Porsche GT3 in the rain was a tough but valuable lesson.”
